Do you know that feeling when your community holds an event and everyone pitches in to make it happen?
Sure, there’s the one person who had the idea in the first place and is the driving force, but really they couldn’t do it without the help of everyone else. Someone organises music, another the seating and someone gives up their shearing shed as a location (even if it means the dreaded task of cleaning up!) Then, when the date rolls around, most people bring food or at least some drinks, ready for a great night. No one had to do anything, but they did it anyway, because they know it’s worth it. They know they’re going to have a good time. They’ll share stories, catch up with old friends and meet some new ones.
Well… I think Wheatbelt Local is like a community event. Yes, it was my crazy idea and I had no idea how I would pull it off, but with the support of the amazing online Wheatbelt community, somehow we made it to here. To the start of the party. All the details have been organised, now we just need a few people to bring along food and drinks (that means content guys!) and enjoy the ride.
This party is just getting started, so come on and join in!
Have a look around the site, see ways that you can contribute and leave a comment below to say hi, just so I know I’m not the only person at the party!

This week on Wheatbelt Local, expect daily posts everyday except Saturday, featuring a few events from all around the Wheatbelt, the June events calendar and some photos from special places in the Wheatbelt. Then, the week after, it just gets better!
I’m really looking forward to seeing some great content on this site. What a great resource for Wheatbelt people and visitors to the Wheatbelt!
