karlahoopertake10-01

Our most recent Take 10 interview is with the incredible Karla Hooper, who recently a received Youth Board Scholarship from Wheatbelt NRM and is the driving force behind the Toodyay Farmers Market, Northam Farmers Market and recent community garden developments. She also is in the process of setting up her own business, Incredible Edible Wheatbelt and training herself for Gypsy Dreaming, in which she will trek around the Wheatbelt with her camels and Clydesdale horses. The Wheatbelt relies on proactive individuals like Karla to keep local communities alive and moving forward. Today she chats with us about living in the Wheatbelt and everything she is passionate about…

I am… a 35 year old female that is driven by passion and enthusiasm.
I spend my days… creating and manifesting the life of my dreams.
Home is… in Toodyay, on a gorgeous property that I share with my 2 clydesdale horses and 2 dogs.
I have lived in the Wheatbelt… for 4 years and absolutely love everything about it.
My favourite thing about the Wheatbelt is… the unlimited opportunities! Exploring the wonderful rock formations, tapping into the sacredness of the land, the fantastic people… and the list goes on!
A big issue facing the Wheatbelt is… healing the land – in certain parts it’s hurting and needs a little extra love and attention.
One thing I find hard about living in the Wheatbelt is… lack of mobile/internet service.
I am passionate about… SO.MANY.THINGS… Love, Health (of humans, animals and the environment), Waste Reduction and Management, Sustainability, Camels + Clydesdales + Trekking, Authenticity, Community Development, Networking, Success, Learning, Self Development, Inspiring People, Reconnecting people to each other, their food, the Earth + their purpose. Did I mention LOVE?!
The Wheatbelt NRM Youth Board Scholarship is… an amazing opportunity for learning, growth & insight into a well functioning not for profit corporate structure.
In the future, I hope… to be a strong leader, inspiring the masses to live blissful lives that fulfil all their dreams whilst positively impacting all living beings and the environment.
