We are so pleased to be involved with the Wheatbelt Local! As advocates of the Wheatbelt ourselves, we realise the importance of communicating and recognising the amazing businesses and people of the region. The Wheatbelt Business Network is a member driven, incorporated business association in the Wheatbelt that aims to connect businesses and grow the Wheatbelt. We have a presence across 26 shires with over 228 members. We offer members one on one business support, host Business After Hours, and initiate several economic development projects.
One of our current projects is in conjunction with the Shire of Dowerin- a pop up shop! We have worked with the shire to establish a shop on the main street, perfect for a home based business, visiting services, or someone just starting out. The pop up shop is called Country Collections after the historic shop originally located in Dowerin. The location is perfect with display front windows, fresh renovations, and a CBD location. It is easy to book, and a fantastic opportunity for businesses to get a storefront without ongoing annual overheads. The fee for the space is minimal, making it an affordable and attainable space for any small business.
We envision the shop bursting with homemade goods, unique wares, a professional service, or even an antique shop. The options are truly endless, and we hope businesses from across the region jump on the opportunity to participate! The inspiration behind the pop up shop was not only to give small businesses a low cost prime location, but also add a bit of life back to an empty shop front. If you think your business might be a great fit for the pop up shop, get in touch with the WBN! We would love to hear from you to discuss your ideas!
